Wide receiver Dezmon Briscoe has been reinstated to the Kansas football team, KU coach Mark Mangino announced Wednesday.
Briscoe, a second-team All-Big 12 selection last year, was suspended in late March for violating unspecified team rules.
The status of running back Jocques Crawford has not yet been determined. Crawford was suspended earlier this month for multiple violations of team rules in a short period of time.

Knowing how under wraps Mangino is about these things, we'll probably never hear about what he was in trouble for. That is unless someone from the NFL finds something out before the draft in '10 or '11 like they did with Talib last year.

Let's go Briscoe (wonder if he is related to former denver great Marlon Briscoe)
Another 52 or so on ksu would be fab, and creaming the corn would also. No need to mention misery... since we BEAT EM ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha but yeah, they should be flogged well and often like granny's old rug.
Dezmon can help a lot in these goals. I see him crossing the goal line an imagine hearing that classic "Can't touch this"....
It's good to be a Hawk.

Atta Boy Dez. Not too worried about loosing Crawford. Things seem to work out when "good" players get kicked off the team (ie: Randall about 5 years ago).

Glad to hear Briscoe is back. Without him, our offense may have been in trouble, because he commands so much attention in the passing game. Glad to hear that our #1 playmaker is back in the good graces.
I envision next season being better than 2008, but not on the same level as 2007.
Looking at the schedule (very early, but still) we have:
Northern Colorado - Win, probably big
@ UTEP - Win, but they will probably hang close for a while
Duke - Win, but not by as much as anyone would like
Southern Miss - Win, but could be a dangerous game
Iowa State - Win, probably big after last year's near disaster
@ Colorado - dangerous game here, but I think we squeak it out.
Oklahoma - Shootout, but unless the defense has grown by leaps and bounds, I'm not sure we can score the 50 points we need to win this game.
@ Texas Tech - Probably another wild game, but we may be able to steal this one on the road.
@ KState - Win, because they don't have much talent.
Nebraska - Probably a win, although they could challenge us.
@ Texas - If Texas is out of the national title hunt, they probably won't play hard, but if Colt McCoy is a Heisman candidate, and Texas could win a title, look out. They will be trying to earn style points here.
Missouri (in KC) - this is a pick 'em, game. We are probably better, but it would make their year to beat us here, especially if the North title is on the line. Push.
I'm thinking this is a 9-3 or 10-2 possible, if we win @Tech and vs. Mizzou. More likely we split those games, and go 9-3, but still may win the North.

Just hope Briscoe as good as he has learned a little something about playing within the boundaries of team rules. Hey Dez! play the tape all the way through from here on out or next time there will be no next time.

It's really no secret. Briscoe was suspended for skipping workouts. He chose to be in Stillwater, OK and workout with Dez Bryant than to be in Lawrence and workout with his teamates.
Having him reinstated to the team is good but......spring football is over. There are are no more practices. He missed them. All.
This kid has an extreme amount of talent. But I hope to God that Coach Mangino puts him at the bottom of the WR depth chart at the start of fall workouts and makes him earn his way back up to the #1 spot. With the way Meier and Wilson are playing that's not necessarily going to be an easy climb.

So Reesing is gonna be driving the BMW this year. Briscoe, Meier, Wilson.
So what model? Well it seems pretty obvious. It's designed by Mangino, so it has to be an "M" series. And it's driven by number 5, so there you have it. The M5. Shown appropriately here in blue.

This funny little 5min. video on our M5, is pretty indicative of how I'm feeling about the upcoming season. Whenever you need it, you just hit the "M" button. And turn the offense into "A raving, mad axe murderer"! Oh, it feels good to be bad.

hawkman 1031...... i wondered the same thing. I'll bet KU's Briscoe is not related to the former Bronco QB.. or we'd have heard it earlier. However, I've been wrong before. It would make a great story.

Briscoe is extremely talented and Mangino will get him in line.. We know what we get with Meier, so these two receivers will give Jonathon Wilson the opportunity to have a great year because of the attention they command from opposing defenses. On the other side of the ball, linebackers and pass rush from the line will be key; if these things fall into place, we should be looking at our first berth in the Big XII Championship game! Rock Chalk.

Thank God. Briscoe has the opportunity to make a run at one of the best receivers in the country this year (let alone the Big 12). This really was a weapon we couldn't afford to lose.

Yes he missed all of spring practices, but that also helps to prevent injuries. And honestly, spring ball is for the young guys to get used to the system and for coaches to get going the juices going again. I'm not condoning what he did, but he could be just like Crawford and completely blow your chance.
Rivet, do you have proof that Briscoe was in Stillwater?
And if you honestly think that he won't become the #1 receiver, you are dumb. Kerry is an inside slot receiver, he creates matchup problems the most. That is why he plays inside mostly if not all the time. Wilson is a nice player, a very nice player, but he isn't #1 receiver reliable yet. He needs to gain some weight and get a little bit faster. And you also act like if he isn't the #1 guy, he won't get on the field. We aren't an Alabama, for example, in which some formations we line up with 1 WR. The last time I checked, we run the spread, and we line up with 3-4 WR's on every formation. A freshman will not be able to come in right away and play. Patterson did against inferior competition, that is why he went to the defensive side of the ball.
I get your point. To make him earn everything back, but you have to look at personnel and formations before you go and do something like that.

tx73... Really. Glad to know you can spell our best receivers name. And he won't come close to a Heisman. I believe Tebow, Bradford, and McCoy are all back. And last I checked they finished 1,2,3 in the voting last year. Briscoe will hopefully win he Biletnikoff Award, that goes to the top receiver in the country.
And I'm a big KU fan, but also a realistic one. We will not be in the national championship game. Not with the schedule, and not with the defense we have right now. Offense sells tickets, defense wins championships.
