Will Donkeyball be played at halftime or will it be the main attraction, with the game secondary?

I predict KSU will strut their stuff in full regalia: a full armada of loaded manure spreaders will be on active display before game time, circling the field and spreading "good will", pulled by mules, to the wild and delerious cheers of the Mildcat hillbillies packing the stadium. Ron Prince will return to Manhattan to accept his $3 million "bonus" check during the festive halftime ceremonies honoring him and his good friend, Bob Krause. And topping off the halftime festivities will be a hillbilly moonshine-making demonstration at center field: huge copper kettle, spiraling copper tubing and all the ancillary equipment, put on and sponored by the KSU administration. What a show it will be!! Ye haw!

njjayhawk-While funny, I am afraid your KSU bashing is a front to the fact that we all thought we would whoop up on the putty-cats this year, and now it doesnt look like that at all. I am worried that we will not only get beat, but Bill "I put the hall of fame on hold for this..." Snyder will make it his mission to end the Hawks season. Not having good feelings about this one.....

Agreed 1225. I'm keeping my mouth shut this week. I think we'll be hearing from our in state bretheren all week though and I'm cautiously optimistic that we'll be watching them eat crow about 3pm Saturday.

The real problem is that our team is playing poorly, they are playing reasonably well and they have absolutely nothing to lose because no one expected them to win in the first place. We will have to play our best game of the season to beat them.

"We will have to play our best game of the season to beat them."

maybe....but we haven't played a "good" game yet......unless you count UTEP. ok, i'll go ahead and count it....and if we play as good as we played vs. UTEP, then we'll win.

beating KSU will take something that we haven't done lately...and that's not giving the ball away.

if we stuff Thomas, and not let Banks hit big, AND we keep the ball...our chances are real good. all big ifs, but doable. this team has to start focusing on play to play, and doing it right.....and forget about bowl games, Big 12 north titles, Heisman trophy candidates, and the like.

As one of your brethren chiming in, as predicted, I don't think titles, bowl games and the Heisman chase ever were KU's problem. You need to show up and play football. KSU has something to prove and is proving it one game at a time...come out to the game in person. As for manure spreaders, I think KU has spread enough of it on the field this year all on its lonesome. Crow is a dish best served cold...

KU rarely wins on the road in the Big XII. KU will need to be at it's peak (not valley like last 4 games all Big XII tussles) to make a statement about the rest of the season!

    go hawks!

    win turnovers.
speed up play on Offense, drop the easy to steal sideline play check.

    kick off @ 11;30?

some of our guys still asleep, get them up for leg lifts every day this week at 5 a.m. stretch practices, halt the bar hopping after midnight during season.

Stuff the run and hold on to the ball and we win by 14.

The good news: if both teams play relatively well KU wins.
The bad news: it's been about 6 weeks since we have played relatively well.

My in-laws are huge KSU fans and I had to endure the last 2 KSU home wins. They won because A&M and Colo. each gave away to first half turnovers deep in their own territory which KSU turned into points. After that KSU simply controlled the game by running the ball and cruised to victory. They don't beat themselves.

This is frightening considering that all we have done the past three games is beat ourselves. If I was a betting man I don't know if I would lay any money down on KU in this one, but I remain cautiously optimistic. I can't bear the thought of having to listen to the rest of my family talk about this game all year if KU chokes another one off.

To "HawkfromHays" - I live in Victoria (work in Hays), but there is nothing that ticks me off more than "ksu fans" out here.
Here are the reasons I hate ksu (and their fans):
1.) Before the Snyder era - ksu was irrelevant. ksu fans only believe that their history starts when Snyder started.
2,) ksu fans have two favorite teams. ksu and whoever plays KU. Kind of ridiculous because KU fans don't even talk about ksu until the week we play them. KU is their biggest game year in and year out.
3.) ksu would have to win 30+ years straight just to get the series record to .500
4.) Every ksu fan that tells a "your coach is fat" joke - thinks he/she is the first one thats ever joked about it. Give me a break already.
5.) There were virtually no ksu football fans until Snyder showed up, now they've all come out of the gutter like they've been fans forever.
6.) I hate Missouri too - just substitute "ksu" and "Snyder" for "mizzou" and "Pinkel"
7.) Every week I get to hear "haha KU lost" - I'm not out making fun of ksu losses (i.e. Lousiana Lafayette) - I could care less who ksucks plays.
8.) Don't get me wrong - I take great pride when ksu loses. If they never won again I would be the happiest person in the world. Send them guttercats back to the sewers where they belong!
9.) Even with 3 losses in a row - a struggling offense - an improving defense - it's always better to be a Jayhawk!
10.) They are probably one of the worst fan bases around. Them and missouri. I can deal with cu - nu - ou - osu fans etc...etc...KSU has hands down the worst fans.

    rock -chalk-jayhawk - Beat ksu!

    lighthawk says "win turnovers."

That is the difference in our season being successful and frustrating. It is aso what has made the kitties relevant.

This game is still very winnable, and silo high is coming back to the pack (as expected) after starting with their weak conf games.

that sounds more like an essay of hatred then anything factual. The guttercats? ksucks? you must be really nervous about Bill Snyder and company, and we have a really good reason to be. They have 2 athletes on there whole team, but they will out-coach us. If Mangino would be half the coach Snyder is, we would win National Titles with our talent.

Our Father, who art in Manhattan, hallowed be thy game. Thy Snyder come, thy Championship won, now as it was in 2003. Give us this day our deserved victories, and forgive us for our penalties. As we forgive Ron Prince for a terrible 3 years. And lead us not into defeat, but deliver us from the BCS system. for kansas state is the football kingdom, the tradition, and the glory. for ever and ever.
    Amen.

Good one hawkman... i recall planting 64 on KU like 8 times in a row....KU's football tradition goes back 3 years, ever since Reesing came. O by the way Snyder has won 8 straight against KU, and is 15-4 against them. He can out coach anybody he plays against. If only Mangino had learned anything from Snyder.......well Stoops did!!!
